Immigration Attorneys and Accredited Representatives will be utilized to complete immigration legal documents with Afghan clients. An accredited representative is a non-attorney who has demonstrated to the Department of Justice that they have enough education and experience in immigration law to provide immigration legal services. In addition to Accredited Representatives, we will also utilize our Legal Immigration Attorney to handle legal matters that pertain to immigration matters. Our Attorney will interpret and provide advice on migration, citizenship, immigration issues, political asylum, and on the processes through which people may secure travel, work, or other types of visas.
Our mission at CLIA is to ensure that people have an equal opportunity to build their future. We strive to help immigrant and refugee youth and families to climb the immigration ladder, the ultimate goal being citizenship and stability. Services offered by CLIA are offered at low or no cost. At CLIA, immigrants, and refugees gain access to low or no-cost legal services to meet their immigration legal status needs in order to live productive lives. By working closely with families we can help them gain independence and control of their lives.
Through our work, we help relieve fear, encourage growth and development, and improve the opportunity for further education. Our measurements of success will be by the collection of data on each client served including but not limited to demographics, needs of the clients, how they are addressed, and the outcome of each client case. CLIA offers the following services at low or no cost to qualifying clients: Work card applications (I-765), Lawful permanent residency (I-485), Naturalization (N-400 & N-600), DACA (I-821D), TPS (I-821), Asylee (I-589), Family Petitions (I-130 and I-730), Special Immigrant Juvenile (I-360).
