In September, UBT’s Journey team hosted the return of our popular Smarter in September series, a fun and informative how-to series designed to educate and enrich on a wide variety of topics. All these topics had in common is that they were of interest to folks who like to be informed: Subjects included how to get the most out of your walks, how to take some of the stress out of downsizing, how to bank smarter and safer (faster, too), and how to make healthy personal connections.

This was the stuff people wanted to know more about, so we rounded up industry experts and brought them live via Zoom to our registered participants each Tuesday at 2 p.m. for amazing presentations and often some great Q&A sessions. If you missed out, don’t despair! We recorded the segments for YouTube history. You can read a brief overview of each session and find links to each video below.

Smarter Strides: Optimizing the Wonders of Walking

Featuring Sam Dolezal, EdD, MS, MSE, CSCS — Wellness Advocate at Union Bank & Trust

In this smash series start, Sam got us out of the gate with tips for both the novice rambler and seasoned stroller. She started with basic helpful definitions and pre-routine considerations, and she just kept gaining traction. Nearly 50 virtual participants joined to learn about keeping their equipment, routine, and themselves in tip-top shape; how to make safety a priority; and how to keep boredom at bay. If you’re a walker or would-be walker, you’ll want to catch this informative segment.
