In 2020, we all learned just how crucial meal delivery, grocery apps, and streaming services like Netflix and Hulu can be when you’re staying safe and socially distant at home. And if you’re like us, you probably have family members who pass around login credentials like it’s popcorn on movie night. The truth is, some things really are intended to be kept separate — like your UBTgo login credentials.

In fact, think of your UBTgo credentials as a personal care item, like a comb or toothbrush. They allow you to personally care for your bank accounts, and by each family member using their own, you enjoy optimal online health and security. Let’s walk through the reasons why credentials for each account owner are optimal.

A customized experience. One of the coolest things about multifactor authentication, or MFA, is that when you set it up, you get to choose the login method that works best for you, whether you prefer an authenticator app, SMS (text verification), or a voice call. Of course, once you’re registered, you can go back and select a second option — and we recommend it, so logging in is convenient whatever your circumstances.

Ultimate convenience. Once you enroll in MFA, logging in is super easy through both UBTgo and the UBTgo mobile app. However, it’s important to note that if more than one person is logging in, there would need to be two types of MFA enrolled, one for each user. When you enroll, you can choose the method of MFA that will be unique to your credentials.

Enhanced security. Multifactor authentication means an extra layer of security for your accounts. Registering this way protects you by claiming — and personalizing — your identity within UBT. A fraudster would not be able to register as you because you have already done so. Let’s make it a little clearer with an example: Bob and Susan Smith have a joint bank account. In addition to the username bobsmith, they also claimed the username susansmith just to ensure that someone else wouldn’t be able to create susansmith credentials fraudulently.

Additional security features such as an “impossible travel” filter make it, well, impossible for two people on an account to log in from two different locations, even minutes apart, without prompting for that MFA login.

Ready to take advantage of the security, convenience, and freedom MFA offers? Stop the password sharing and get your own credentials today! Setting up your own account is easy:
