“The absolute best thing anyone can do for us right now is pray. I know that prayers aren’t always answered the way we think they should be, and that’s OK. But prayer is powerful, and I know I could use a lot of it right now.”
— Jessica Lindbeck
The Lindbecks are a family who lives their lives centered in grace and faith, always giving as much love as they receive. Close since college, husband and wife team Jessica and Ryan, along with their 14-year-old daughter Eve, recognize family as one of life’s greatest gifts. Weekdays move at a pretty good pace — Eve is so busy with school and her digital art, while Jessica and Ryan are running a real estate-focused media company. Weekends, however, are family time, and they don’t waste a single minute of it. From cooking a big breakfast and attending church to enjoying Disney movies and game time with friends and more family, time together is precious, and they treasure it. Those who know the Lindbecks know that their favorite time is time spent together.
Some devastating news
Recently, this amazing little family received some news that rocked it to its core — Jessica was diagnosed with a glioblastoma, an inoperable tumor in her brain. She trusts her oncologists, trusts God more, and is praying for the best possible outcome while accepting her treatment and the prognosis with her trademark grace. In Jessica’s own words, “Treatment started at the end of November, right after Thanksgiving. We are praying for survival beyond five years. We are praying for little to no damage to healthy brain tissue during the treatment process. We are praying that my symptoms remain minimal. We are praying for minimal side effects and good quality of life during treatment. And we are praying for wisdom for my medical team, peace for me and my family, and hope for the future.”
Inherent goodness and kind hearts
Jessica was nominated by her friend, Joe, who has been touched by the inherent goodness and kind hearts of Jessica and family; the hard-working, good, and honest family who is accepting their situation with grace and faith.
UBT and our amazing partners wanted to celebrate those giving hearts by making some holiday magic for the Lindbeck family, complete with a tour of the Magical Lights of Lincoln, a date night for Jessica and Ryan at the Kindler Hotel, and come spring, Jessica's longtime dream of a hot air balloon ride will come true, thanks to Emerald City Express. Unique gifts were selected for each family member, and a Meta Quest 3 Virtual Reality Headset, along with both video and board games, will take family game nights to the next level.
Jessica, Ryan, and Eve, may you enjoy many magical family moments this season. Have a happy holiday, Lindbeck Family!
If you’d like to help the Lindbecks to offset medical expenses, a GoFundMe page has been established by Jessica’s nominator.
