Reaching our community
Each nonprofit we work with has different needs in terms of curriculum, and workshops are developed specially for each group. Financial education workshops may be one-time, monthly, quarterly, or as a part of a series. Workshops last approximately one hour and include a presentation and educational materials.
How it works:
Please complete the form below. UBT’s Financial Literacy Program Manager will connect with you to understand your group’s financial education goals and to coordinate a visit at your location. Together, we can coordinate a workshop structure and timeline that best meets the needs of your group. Please allow at least four weeks for scheduling.

One-on-one help
Sometimes we need advice or support with our personal finances. UBT’s Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC®) may be able to offer one-on-one support if you are a UBT customer facing financial challenges or want to enhance your money management skills. Please complete the form below to get started with someone who understands and specializes in helping folks regain their financial footing, setting you on a path to reach your financial goals.

Financial Literacy Program
Financial education that’s free of charge
Through our Financial Literacy program, UBT partners with community nonprofits in the greater Lincoln, Nebraska area to provide a customized financial learning experience offered via Zoom or traditional classroom settings. The program covers more than 40 educational topics designed to help people take better control of their finances. Classes, webinars, and one-on-one coaching are offered to educate on budgeting, community collaboration, banking needs, and more.

Financial Literacy Program Manager
Brittany Planos
Brittany is an Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC®) recognized by the Association for Financial Counseling & Planning Education®, the highest standard for the field of financial counseling and education, and brings more than 10 years of K-12 and higher education leadership experience to UBT.
She holds a B.S. in Education & Human Sciences from UNL and an M.Ed. in Higher Education from UNLV, is an MBA candidate at Creighton University, and is a certified Gallup Strengths Coach.
An advocate for educational equity and social justice, Brittany identifies as a first-generation student and has presented at national conferences regarding best practices in supporting low-income and first-generation learners. She has led student enrichment programs for the U.S. Department of Education’s TRIO programs and has managed recruitment, diversity, and assessment efforts at UNLV (University of Nevada, Las Vegas), the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, and Creighton University.
