Meet Bailey. Today, she’s a young dentist who just completed her residency, and she’s opening a new pediatric dental clinic in York, Nebraska, very soon — with business financing from UBT. But her connection to UBT actually goes back much further.
Bailey grew up in Lincoln, Nebraska. When she was in high school, her father — a longtime UBT customer — brought her into a UBT branch to open her first savings account. After graduating from high school, she stayed in Lincoln to attend the University of Nebraska and opened her first checking account at the UBT branch within the Nebraska Union. While doing her undergraduate studies, Bailey decided she wanted to focus on pediatric dentistry, and her postsecondary education took her to Omaha, where she completed her residency at Children’s Nebraska and continued banking with UBT. During that time, she poured hours of her own time into learning what it takes to open your own dental practice — in fact, she still has a binder filled with documents, checklists, and plans.
At this point, Bailey reached out to UBT (and a few other banks) to inquire about financing. Our very own Mike Schommer, who has expertise in financing medical practices, reached out to her right away.
"I've been so impressed with Bailey‘s unwavering drive, keen business sense, and deep commitment to building a world-class pediatric dental practice. I think her story speaks to the capabilities we have at UBT. Not only the geographic component of this, but also all the different business lines that she's worked with throughout the duration of her relationship with the bank. It has been rewarding to watch her building go up and know that her family gets to settle back in the York area."

Bailey felt like going with Mike and UBT was the right fit, and over the past two years, they’ve worked closely to ensure that Bailey’s set for success.
Which brings us to Bailey’s next big move: In late 2024, Bailey will open her first pediatric dental practice. Why York? For one, it’s an underserved community — hers will be the only pediatric dental office between Lincoln and Grand Island. Plus, Bailey and her husband have roots in York — they’ll be moving into the farmhouse owned by her husband’s family.
It’s all coming together beautifully for a woman who worked hard, set goals, and achieved what she set out to do. We’re so proud of Bailey as she embarks on this new chapter in her life. And we’re so happy to be here for her when she needs us.
